2019 Program for Quebec City Summer Festival

It is with great pleasure that we present you the 2019 Program for Quebec City Summer Festival for its 52nd edition, which will be held from July 4 to 14.

July 5: Alt-J with CHVCHES and Sir Sly.

After Gorillaz in 2017, it’s now Alt-J’s turn to land on the Bell Plains of Abraham stage with its new genre Indie Rock. Combining a rock sound with a strong dose of electro and Triphop, the English quartet from Leeds made a breakthrough in 2012 with the hit Breezeblocks. They will be preceded on stage by CHVRCHES, a band that gathers more attention in the industry with a very melodic mix of electro and pop-rock along with very catchy chords.

July 6: Lynyrd Skynyrd with Jason Bonham and Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul.

Nostalgia sells a lot in 2019, and it is the legendary band Lynyrd Skynyrd that will make you relive the huge successes like Simple Man, Free Bird and especially the summer song “par excellence” Sweet Home Alabama. What better than to celebrate the summer season than to dance to this rock classic and accompany the tens of thousands of people who will invade the plains of Abraham to sing one of the best known choruses in music history.

The first part will be led by the son of the late Led Zeppelin percussionist’s John Bonham, Jason Bonham, who will certainly revisit several successes of his father’s band such as Whole Lotta Love and Stairway to Heaven.

July 7th: Twenty One Pilot with The Glorious Sons and Yungblud.

One of the most popular bands on the planet right now is landing at the Quebec City Summer Festival on July 7th. Twenty One Pilots perfectly combines rock and hip-hop to offer mega-hits like Heathens, Stressed out and Ride. The duo composed only of a percussionist and a singer / guitarist has experienced a meteoric progression since 2013 and now hold 2 songs having reached the billion single listening on Spotify. The two artists who will have the chance to display their talents before the duo are The Glorious Sons and Yungblood, two groups that are attracting more and more attention from Rock music lovers.

July 8th: Slipknot with Killswitch Engage and Light the Torch.

The psychedelic clowns are back. After a few years of absence due to dissensions within the group, Slipknot is back with an album that should be available at the beginning of August. It seems that the band of singer Corey Taylor could not wait for the release of their 6th studio album before returning to the scene since they begin their tour in June, tour that will take them to the Bell stage of the Quebec City Summer Festival. July 8th. This is the Killswitch Engage hardcore group that will put fans in the mood for this style of music, very popular with people in the Quebec City area. Mushpit, anyone?

July 9th: Éric Lapointe with Souvenir d’un RENDEZ-VOUS DOUX.

The most popular rocker in Quebec has the honor of being the headliner of the Francophone evening at the Quebec City Summer Festival. After celebrating the passage to the new year at the Videotron Center in Quebec City with more than 10,000 fans, the coach of the popular show La voix will have carte blanche to put on a show during which several other popular artists from La Belle Province will join him on Stage. Who will join the rowdy rocker to interpret his many hits like N’importe Quoi, Loadé Comme un Gun and Mon Ange? You will need to point out the Plains of Abraham on July 9 to find out!

July 10: Kygo with Diplo, Loud Luxury and Bùlow.

Electro-pop music is on the rise these days, and the Summer Festival has once again an evening dedicated to this genre with the concert of Kygo on the main stage of the Plains of Abraham on July 10th. Having made himself known with the mega-hit Firestone, the artist from Norway will be preceded on stage among others by Diplo, another artist who starts to make more some noise on the EDM scene (Electro-Dance Music ) with, among others, a collaboration with Justin Bieber for the song Where are Ü Now.

July 11: Mariah Carey with Daniel Caesar and Nikki Yanofsky.

Mega Pop-star Mariah Carey will bless our ears with her beautiful voice on July 11th when she will perform on the main stage of the Quebec City Summer Festival. Guaranteed chills as she performs her greatest hits like We Belong Together, My All and Hero, in addition to the popular single from her most recent Album A No No. Daniel Caesar and Nikki Yanofsky will display their talent on-stage before the international superstar.

July 12th: Logic with Lil ‘Pump.

The Hip-Hop evening at the Quebec City Summer Festival will be hosted by the Logic, a rising artist of the Rap and Hip-Hop Scene. Having collaborate with artists in different styles like DJ Marshmello for the song Everyday and Alessia Cara for the song 1-800, which was created to promote suicide prevention, Logic offers a sound that varies between hip-hop and electro-pop. Lil ‘Pump will therefore have the chance to present his more traditional hip-hop with his hits like Gucci Gang, ESSKEETIT and Boss.

July 13: Imagine Dragons with Bishop Briggs and Kongos.

Without a doubt one of the most successful new rock bands in recent years, Imagine Dragons will conquer the Plains of Abraham with their many hits like Believer, Thunder, Whatever it Takes and those who made them known as It’s Time and Radioactive. Their new album Origins will obviously be highlighted with the hits Natural and Zero, excerpt from the animated film Ralph breaks the internet. The first part of the show will feature the young British artist Bishop Briggs and her hit River as well as Kongos with their song Come With Me Now.

July 14: Blink 182 and The Offspring.

The 52nd edition of the Summer Festival will end with a Punk-Rock night as two of the pioneers Blink-182 and The Offspring come together on the main stage of the Plains of Abraham. Although we were expecting the presence of The Offspring since the announcement of their visit in another Quebec festival this summer, the Blink-182 one is a total surprise. Expect to hear all your favorite songs like Damnit, All the Small Things, The Rock Show and What’s my Age Again

For The Offspring, it will be a return to the Bell scene of the Plains of Abraham, 7 years to days after an unforgettable passage and you can bet that, as in 2012, we will be entitled to all the greatest hits of the group formed in 1984 like All I Want, Gone Away, Original Prankster, You’re Gonna Go Far Kid, The Kid’s Are Not Alright and (yes, unfortunately) Pretty Fly for a White Guy..

Not much was expected from the 2019 Program for Quebec City Summer Festival because of the scheduling of other major North American festivals that left something to be desired. We must admit that, once again, the FEQ team has distinguished itself with a varied program worthy of the biggest music festivals on the planet. 11 days of musical festivities await fans who will buy passes for sale at a cost of $ 105.00 in general admission. You will never find such a good value elsewhere in the world!!!
