An evening of joyful ballad awaits the thousands of festival-goers who will attend the concert from Jack Johnson at FEQ 2020.
The “joie de vivre” will be celebrated on July 12, 2020 when the show by Hawaiian artist Jack Johnson at FEQ 2020 will be presented on the main stage of the Plains of Abraham. He will be preceded on stage by an artist who fits perfectly with his musical style, namely Vance Joy who had seduced several, including me, in 2015 when he headlined the secondary stage of the Quebec City Summer Festival in 2015 with another great band, Milky Chance.
Inspired by artists such as Radio Head, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Neil Young (who rocked the same scene on the Plains of Abraham in 2018), Johnson offers us a very light and jovial folk-rock sound that promises an evening from where we will come out with a beautiful smile hanging on their face. His hits, which you have certainly heard on the radio without really knowing it was him, include Better Together, I Got You and especially Upside Down. I kind of like Banana Pancakes as well! Even more happiness!
Without making too much noise on the international scene, Jack Johnson remains an artist who gathers huge crowds everywhere he performs. His kind of “nice friendly guy, and we will admit his surfing style (he was a professional surfer until a serious accident which left him with more than a hundred stitches) contribute to the popularity of the artist, in addition to his easy-to-listen songs. Many even give the artist the title of “best artist to listen to on a summer road trip”. Sure, won’t disagree with that!
As for Vance Joy, who will lead the way for Johnson, we remember his visit to the Quebec Summer Festival in 2015 when he stole the show with his mega-hit Riptide. It’s a young talent from Montreal who will be the first to step onto the Plains of Abraham scene, in the person of Geoffroy who also plays in joyful indie-rock.
Lightness and happiness will be the main theme during the show of Jack Johnson at FEQ 2020 on July 12, 2020 with Vance Joy in the first part.
