During the winter season, the Aquarium of Quebec City reinvents itself by offering you the Festilumieres, a unique family activity in Quebec City.
The Aquarium of Quebec is a well-known institution established in the city since 1959. You will find more than 10,000 marine animals, including fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and even marine mammals. Among other species, you can find polar bears, walruses and seals. You can even attend their meals and training to learn more about these captivating animals. The vast 16-hectare site offers activities both indoors and outdoors. In summer, you can even enjoy water games and a tree-to-tree journey!
However, the real magic happens during winter! In addition to marine animals, numerous trails and exceptional views of the St. Lawrence River, you can discover the fully illuminated aquarium in the evening. The Festilumieres at the Aquarium of Quebec City is half a million LED lights installed across the site. In addition to the magical atmosphere, animation, music and slides for children are added for the enjoyment of all.
This year, Festilumières is open from December 26, 2019 to January 5, 2020 (every evening) and from January 11 to February 29, 2020 (Saturday nights only).
The Festilumieres at the Aquarium of Quebec City is open from the end of December to the middle of March each year for several years. Special rates are available for the entrance of Festilumieres. It cost 11 $ plus taxes per adult, 7 $ plus taxes per child, and free for children under 2 years of age to enjoy this great activity. A family rate of 29$ plus taxes for 2 adults and children of 17 years old and under of the same family is also available.
