Maison de la Litterature

But it is also home to some pretty interesting architectural structures. Among those, we find the Maison de la Littérature, located on Rue des Forges in downtown Quebec.

Built in 1876, this building was once a Catholic convent. In 1929, it became the headquarters of the Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie et le Commerce du Canada, a Canadian organization dedicated to promoting industry and commerce in the province. Today, it houses the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec, the National Library of Canada’s French branch. Place Royale

If you are looking to take some truly spectacular pictures in Quebec City, look no further than the Place Royale. This cute spot is where you’ll find the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Notre Dame des Victoires. The church dates back to the 17th century and was built during the French colonial period. It is located within the old town, which is home to many of the best-remaining historic areas. This place is definitely worth seeing, especially since there are so many great things to see around here like the Château Frontenac, the Citadelle du Québec, old port, etc.

The Old City Gates

These beautiful gates are located at the end of Rue Saint-Louis in Quebec City. Built in 1635, they were designed by the famous architect Jacques Viger. The gates were constructed out of limestone blocks quarried in nearby Sainte-Foy, and they include a total of seven towers – three on each side. They are flanked by two rows of six cannons. Each cannon weighs about 2 tons, and it takes four men to operate one. Today, the gates serve as a symbol of the city’s history and culture and also double as a great spot to take some gorgeous photos that truly capture the essence of Quebec.

Montmorency Falls

The Montmorency falls is one of the most stunning natural wonders in Canada. This majestic waterfall is approximately 150 meters high and it is visible from almost anywhere in the city. You don’t have to go far to see this amazing sight because it is just a few minutes away from downtown, making it the perfect day trip. If you want to experience the beauty of nature up close, then you must visit the park where the falls are located. There are many hiking trails around the area and you can even take a boat ride across the river, which will help you get a perfect shot from the perfect angle.
