This year, Easter falls on Sunday April 21, 2019 and is synonymous with long weekend for many. Here are 10 ideas for activities to do during this 3-day weekend.
1- Laurier Quebec and Galerie de la Capitale Shopping Malls
Every year, both these shopping malls offer a variety of activities (most of the time free) for young families to enjoy over the long Easter week-end. Among these activities: photo zone, children’s makeup, egg hunting path, and much more depending which shopping mall you go to.
2- The Bora Park
If Valcartier slides are closed for this winter, the Bora Parc will be open to welcome you in a tropical atmosphere where swimming pools and water slides will please the whole family.
3- Spring Skiing
For skiers who want to enjoy the last snows before storing their skis, some ski slopes, especially at Mont Sainte-Anne, will still be accessible for spring skiing. Take advantage of this long weekend to slide one last time in a soft and melting snow.
In April, temperatures are warm and nature is gradually regaining its rights. It is an opportunity to go out on the hiking trails around Quebec City with the Parc National de la Jacques-Cartier, the Montmorency Forest or the Cap-Tourmente which welcomes the geese returning from the south.
5-The Easter Brunch
For some, it is a tradition and it is a great opportunity to meet with family or friends around a hearty lunch. There are many good addresses for “brunchers” in Quebec City. Remember to book in advance!
6- It’s sugar time!
The return of spring is also the time of sugars in Quebec and sugar shacks are numerous in the region of Quebec. This is a unique opportunity to taste maple syrup and traditional Quebec food.

If the weather does not cooperate with your outside schedule, the Easter weekend is a good opportunity to do a family movie outing. Some also offer family programming for the occasion.
8- Celebrating Easter in the mountains
Go to Mont Sainte-Anne on Saturday evening with the group Cover 2.0. Who will perform as part of the après-ski Folies du Printemps. On Sundays, go with the little ones and meet the Easter bunnies that distribute eggs.
9- (Re) discover Old Quebec
With the return of the beautiful days, it is the opportunity to rediscover its city and especially Old Quebec, the Plains of Abraham, Grande Allée … it is a great opportunity to go out and enjoy its city at the “Awakening” of spring.
